Wicker furniture

Whether it is synthetic or natural fiber, wicker is usually chemically treated before it leaves the factory to make it stronger and more resistant to moisture. Wicker-woven furniture is most afraid of the sun. If it is not used for two or three weeks, it is best to put a protective cover on it. Wicker furniture can’t be polished. To minimize the accumulation of bacteria, wipe it with a damp cloth. After using it for a period of time, you can use a vacuum cleaner to suck the dust in the gap, or use a brush, then scrub it with a neutral soap and wipe it dry. Be careful not to use too much water, which may cause the fiber to become Fragile. Wicker has been popular in outdoor living areas for more than a century.

Synthetic wicker is made out of plastic materials that will scratch, tear, and unravel over time. Quality wicker is made out of a material called Polyethylene.Polyethylene is a thermoplastic polymer with variable crystalline structure and an extremely large range of applications depending on the particular type. It is one of the most widely produced plastics in the world.

Solid wood furniture

This type of furniture are  made of teak, redwood, and cypress is weather- and rot-resistant and does not require paints, stains, or other protective coatings. Most of the wood used for outdoor furniture is resistant to corrosion from nature. When changing seasons, you can mix the washing powder with hot water to remove the mildew on the surface and rinse it off. To remove rust or bird droppings, or to restore the original color, you can use a fine sandpaper to polish. If the area is too large, you can use a sandpaper mixed with a brightener to polish together. Do not use chlorine-containing bleach, which can damage wood fiber.

Some woods are soft and show wear, such as worn corners and edges, after many years of use. Others are called hardwoods and have a more durable lifespan. Pieces made from average-quality, furniture-grade woods, such as pine, fir, and oak, need to be updated yearly with fresh coats of stain, paint, or sealer. Oil-base paints are tougher than latex. Gloss finishes last longer than semigloss or flat finishes.

If well cared for, your wood patio set will last you a very long time. Perfect for sunny outdoor spaces, wood patio furniture is non-heat-absorbing to give you maximum comfort on scorching summer days.
